Artemis:
It was ‘close’ at the top but for me the single
defining quality of this miniature is that the face was so
stunning you just couldn’t take your eyes off it, a supermodel in
miniature form. (It also reminded me a bit of Jolene Blalock which
is never bad) |
Inge:
Overall a very clean and soft looking paintjob. The
colours work well together and they don't overpower the sculpt.
The face draws attention immediately. It is full of character. The
base is simple but well done and fits the paintjob. |
Steve:
Just a great paintjob, top to bottom. If it doesn't
sound negative, the figure isn't really a massive standout in any
area. What's the phrase? No gimmick required! Basically, there are
no weak areas with this figure. Colour scheme, choice of tones,
facial expression, basing... everything is just so carefully
worked out. The upshot is a figure that just...works, through and
through.

Artemis:
A superb effort that fell at the last hurdle for me
because it lacked some of the smoothness that Tammy would normally
get if she didn’t paint this literally overnight. The shield and
tattoo are superb and considering the time taken an amazing
display.
Inge: A very characterful
paintjob While not as smooth as the two other winners there are
some extremely nice details here. The addition of a (well painted)
shield works well and the tattoos and warpaint are also very well
done.
Steve:
I love this. The figure is just a perfect example
of what I wanted to see on my figures. Kage is a simple figure but
Tammy has used my 'blank canvas sculpting' approach to such great
affect. The tartan, tattoos and warpaint, it just all comes
together to make a great figure. |
Artemis:
Simple and smooth. The skin tone in particular is
very nice and the limited palette just enhances the inhuman nature
of the miniature. An excellent choice of colours.
Inge:
This paintjob has a very nice depth to it. The
blending is smooth and there is good contrast between shade and
highlight. The colours fit together perfectly. As with Shae, the
base is simple but complements the miniature well. The red colour
in the hair, which has been repeated on the base, is also a nice
touch.
Steve:
A really interesting paintjob to me. Nothing
special in the colour scheme as such, but look at the tones
chosen. The pinkish flesh, the earthy wings, the red hair like
blood. Strangely I have to consider the figure to have an
unoriginal colour scheme applied in an original way. Sounds
ridiculous when I say it, but a picture is worth a thousand words.
The face is great too. Great expression on there. And let's face
it, the hot coals are just cool (in a not cold kind of way).
